Hello, My Name is…

Hello My Name Is When I started the marry blogger, I was unsure if I should use my real name.

There were a handful of reasons why:

*I didn’t know if I had anything to add to the “marriage conversation”

*I was insecure about my blogging skills

*I was insecure about me and my hangups and if I could write honestly about them

*I was insecure about what [little] reputation
I had.

*I had paranoia about what people would think when they found out that I have struggled with porn

I’ve Been Thinking

After spending time really thinking and praying about this, I came across some great writing about what makes a blog successful (Darren at Problogger shares some things he has learned over 5000 posts).

Over at Write to Done, there was a terrific post by Glen Allsopp referring to a forgotten key to blogging success.

Simply stated: the reader should feel as if they know the blogger on a personal level.

As I continue to write under the Marry Blogger “Pseudonym” – I put up a barrier (at least in my head) that doesn’t need to be there.

A mental “straight arm” tactic- keeping me from tapping into something. My decision to not use my name has kept me from the personal quality of other great blogs around the web.

I started this blog to be honest and transparent, then decided not to use my own identity.

Silly me.

Its time to come out from behind the Marry Blogger nom de plume.

Hello, My Name is…

Hi! My name is Stu Gray. I am the Marry Blogger.

I am a professional Voiceover Actor, Audio Production Specialist and Copywriter. You can visit my website and business blog if you would like! (its about creativity, and audio/voiceover related business – and not updated as frequently)

You can always follow me on twitter – @themarryblogger, or also my personal named account @stugray. The Marry Blogger account is focused on marriage, great relationships, my other account tends to be more business oriented.

That wasn’t so bad.

Kind of underwhelming actually.

But I do feel better – I don’t feel like I am hiding behind a false name.

I’m off to update my About Page.
