A Little Something Extra

After living a couple years in New Orleans, I started to pick up some of the cool phrases and words that the area is known for.

One of my faves was Lagniappe.

Lan-Yap.

What is Lagniappe?

La-gniappe

–noun

1. Chiefly Southern Louisiana and Southeast Texas. a small gift given with a purchase to a customer, by way of compliment or for good measure; bonus.

2. a gratuity or tip.

3. an unexpected or indirect benefit.

Also, la-gnappe.

A little something extra. A little gift.

I would like to give you some lagniappe as well.

Sometimes there are things that I want to pass along that don’t really have anything to do with marriage or family, or my struggles or any topic related to this blog.

But being someone who likes to share stuff and give you something you might enjoy…I have been thinking “How do I share more than just my ‘topic’?

Well, I believe I have found a way.

At the suggestion of Blogger John Saddington over at ChurchCrunch and Michael Hyatt – CEO of Thomas Nelson, I decided to create my own

Lagniappe Category.

A little something extra. A little gift.

Perhaps it will be things I am reading. Great posts or articles I don’t want you to miss. I happen to really be into social media and learning all about that – so you might see some lagniappe on a fave app or tool that I just found.

You won’t see the lagniappe category on my main page – you’ll have to look for it a little bit. It’s listed under the marry blogger category across the top of my header, and the latest lagniappe will be listed at the end of my sidebar.

I’m gonna try it out for a bit, and see what we all think!
