Set a time to talk to each other after the kids are in bed. Make it a habit. SCHEDULE it

Watch and Calendar

The “S” word has been an enemy in my marriage.

SCHEDULE.

I am a creative type.

I want spontaneous and inspired,

I want off-the-cuff and whimsical,

I want unplanned and passionate.

Yeah, That’s great and all, but it doesn’t really work that way.

Life happens.

Things get in the way of the most important relationship that I claim to have.

My Marriage.

Then I end up doing little stupid things that don’t make much difference in my marriage, and it (my marriage) ends up in the metaphorical back seat of my life wedged between the seat cushions with the Spiderman toy from McDonalds and the 3 half eaten animal crackers.

So, I need to Schedule time with the Beautiful Wife™.

We have begun to really think about the time we have after the kiddo goes to bed. It is a great time for us to wrap up what we are doing with our work and reconnect with each other.

We do some of the stuff on this list – talk about the day, talk about our plans, Where we are going as a family, and sometimes we even have sex.

You know, sometimes talking and planning out the evening after the kiddo goes to bed can give you something to look forward to!
