I totally agree. And when you attempt to learn about your spouse's likes/dislikes, it will make your marriage and your day to day life with them easier and more rewarding. Marriage is work, we all know that. But if you choose to learn about your spouse, you can attempt to avoid doing and saying things that really displease or upset them and make the harmony in your home better. Sometimes, I think I know my husband better than he knows himself, because I choose to listen to him and watch what he does and how he does it.

Absolutely. When we become genuinely interested in others, they become interested in us - its just how it works. So keeping the curiosity factor going in your marriage is a positive thing - not easy - but it is doable!

The concept applies to all relationships. People like to talk about themselves, and when you initiate their talking...they like you. It draws you closer.

So, find out everything there is to know about your spouse. Ask questions. Show your interest & tighten the bond.

We have always encouraged couples to continue being a "student of their spouse!". It is easy to slide into a comfortable routine and miss the rich relationship to be discovered on a deeper level. But doing this takes time, effort and purpose. We posted a similar post last August on our blog - it goes along well with yours...thanks!
http://theromanticvineyard.wordpress.com/2009/0...
