What is RSS? And How to Stay Up to Date With the Marry Blogger Regularly!

What is RSS?
Rss is a very easy way to keep track of your favorite blogs and websites. A couple years ago, the best way to keep track of your favorites was ‘bookmarking” a site…you would open your browser and click your bookmarks to check your favorites.
These days – RSS is the way to go. RSS is common language means “Really Simple Syndication”. The real definition is ‘Rich Site Summary’ – but no one really uses that unless you are a real computer person!
RSS is quick and easy, if you use Email – you can use RSS to subscribe to your favorite blogs. You don’t have to visit every site that you like – they are fed to you thru a “feed reader”. If your favorite website or blog offers a feed – you subscribe -it shows up in your reader – and you click them to give them a read (like reading email)! Your favorite feeds show up in your reader every time the blog is updated. You click the title of the post – and read away!
My favorite feed reader is Google Reader…but there are others (like Bloglines and Pageflakes).
If you do end up using Google Reader, I have put together a bundle of great Marriage blogs that you can follow to get you started!
Once you have a Feed Reader – all you have to do is look for the RSS symbol on your favorite blogs and websites – most of the time it is an orange square!
Also – if you use the Firefox Browser, sites that have an RSS feed have the orange box listed in the url of the website:
You can click the RSS logo and be subscribed easily – and for free!
